Pretty Lil' Heart is the eleventh episode of the second season of Glee: The New Years and the thirty-third episode overall. It was released on May 5, 2012. Gunner and Dougie have difficulties finding ways to impress their dates on Valentine's Day. Meanwhile, Daniel tries to pull back A.J. for another chance, but it seems like A.J.'s less interested when a secret admirer gives him messages. Later, Chuck convinces Anna to make her huge return back to New Directions. And a shocking lie causes Mr. Schuester to lose trust in Chanel again after promising to help her with her pregnancy.

So here’s what you missed on Glee: The New Years!
On Christmas, A.J. decides to break it off with Daniel and move on, which he seems to have already done as he bonds with Dougie’s ex-boyfriend, Drew Coach. Daniel then has become a bitch. Meanwhile, Alex and Shannon join New Directions, and seems to be liked by almost everyone. Anna returned for Chuck for Christmas and she’s taking more time for herself before she returns to New Directions. Carina began dating Gunner, Addison’s former flame, and they seem to be the cutest couple, speaking of the cutest couples, Levi and Dougie kiss under the mistletoe. Isn’t that adorable?

Gunner watches the clock until the clock strikes 12:00. His legs start shaking, until he slowly turns around and sees Carina.
It’s almost time for school to end, early dismissal. In 2 more days, Valentine’s Day will officially be here. I must impress Carina and show her how much she means to me on this day. After Addison and I broke up, she has been nothing but honest to me, so I just want to be honest to her and tell her how I feel.
As the clock strikes 12, the bell loudly rang, and Gunner walked out in the hallway. Carina walked out and turned the other way that he was walking. Gunner began to smile, and then walked as if he was in slow motion.
“Tell me something sweet, tell me something nice, tell me something good, baby, Tell me it's alright.” Gunner sang. “Tell me that you love me, tell me you'll be there. Iget so worried, sometimes the world will not be fair. Tell me that I'm sexy, like I was before, tell me that I got it, that you want it even more, tell me that you'll never, ever, ever leave my side, side, tell me cause you know I need to hear it every night.”
“Baby you got me don't worry your pretty little heart, I said, baby you got me don't worry your pretty little heart.”
The moment turns into a dream sequence, as Carina and Gunner stand face to face as if they were going to kiss each other, the spotlight shone on their faces.
“Tell me who you with, tell me where you were, tell me did you go out and start talking to some girl, I want to believe it, you know how hard I try, after all we've been through, it’s so hard to say goodbye,”
“Tell me that the future is getting brighter now, tell me that we'll make it, that we'll make it somehow, tell me it's forever, that we'll never part, tell me that you'll never break my pretty little heart,”

Gunner quickly snapped out of the dream and then began to smile and walked out of the school door.
Daniel walked inside of the Lima Bean, feeling depressed and angry.
I’m just really not ready for this Valentine’s Day. I’m really not. I mean, I’m single, A.J.’s gone away from me, everyone seems to hate me now in New Directions. My life is over. I mean, come on, Levi and Dougie, met for only 11 weeks, and they suddenly fell in love. It took me 15 weeks to get closer to A.J., then it comes to Carina and Gunner, they’ve only met each other since Halloween and now they’re like the cutest couple of the school. Claira and Alex. I just don’t like Claira. I really don’t. I never trusted her “sweet” ways and I never will, but they’ve only met each other since Dougie’s birthday, that’s not going to be an everlasting love.
I know I’ve been mean, I know I’ve been a bitch to people and I know it’s the reason why A.J. broke up with me, but you must understand that everyone has anger, everyone makes mistakes and making mistakes means that I’ll never win A.J back no time soon, since he’s hanging out with that Drew kid.
Where the hell did this guy come from? Oh, right, Dougie’s ex. To this case, I don’t consider myself friends with cheaters, I don’t. Hopefully, the same thing will happen to A.J. and then he’ll be begging on his knees to be with me again.
Daniel smirked and shook his head and continued to walk past.
The next morning, Carina and Levi were in the hallway. “Thanks for trying to help out, Carina,” Levi said. “I just don’t really know how to impress Doug at all for Valentine’s Day,”
“I feel the same way with Gunner, Lev,” Carina said. “It’s like, I feel so selfish,”
“Carina, you’re not selfish, you’re just really confused, like I am, you know, this is a holiday where we show love and happiness to our family, friends but mostly to the people that we really love,” Levi said.
“Yeah,” Carina said. “What do you think we should do?”
“I’m not really sure yet, but I’m confident that by tomorrow, we’ll get to impress our boyfriends,” Levi giggled.
Carina and Levi smiled at each other, and they walked to the center of the hallway and began dancing.
“You pull me close, I get this kind of reaction yeah, everywhere,” Carina sang. “Can you feel my pulse; my heart is beating faster, yeah, from this love affair,”
“And it would be only you talking in my ear, your lips are so beautiful, ooh, I want them near,” Levi sang. “Your eyes they undress me, they make me confess it , the things you make me do , guess now I'm outta control.”

In the choir room, both Carina and Levi perform the song with Dougie on one side of the room and Gunner on the other.

Everyone stood up and gave a round of applause and Gunner and Dougie went to the two and hugged them.
“That was so sweet, Cari,” Gunner smiled.
“Lev, you were amazing,” Levi and Dougie hugged each other.
Chuck smiled as he sat in Anna’s bedroom, “It’s nice that your stuff is still in the boxes,”
“I know,” Anna said. “The hard part is that I forgot how my room looked before I left,”
“I understand,” Chuck said. “How did it feel seeing New Directions still in action?”
“It was amazing seeing my friends again,” Anna said.
Chuck stood up and looked around Anna’s room, and saw a picture that had the whole Glee Club in it. “Are you still thinking about coming back?”
“I am,” Anna nodded. “I’ve just been trying to adapt to this state again, you know, since 7 months of being in Canada, I felt like I had a new home, but it wasn’t home without any of you, you know,”
“We all miss you very, Anna, we really would want you to come back,”
“I will, I promise,” Anna said, as she walked to Chuck and kissed him softly on the lips and hugged him.
Chuck smiled, then his smile turned into a sudden frown.
A.J., Shawn and Lily were walking in the hallway. “So, what are you two doing for Valentine’s Day?”
“Well, anything that Lily wants to do for V-Day is fine with me,” Shawn smiled at Lily.
Lily giggled, “No, it’s all your choice,”
“You crazy you,” Lily and Shawn kissed each other. As A.J. stopped to open his locker, he opened it and a white envelope fell out.
“Hmm, what’s this?” A.J. said. He picked it up from the cold ground and saw the red heart sticker stuck in between two of the flaps of the envelope.
He opened the envelope and there was a light sheet of loose leaf paper and he opened it and the paper was written in red pen.
The note said: Roses are red. Violets are blue. Green eyes you have. How sexy they are, too. – Love, your secret admirer.
A.J. gasped and then began to blush. “Oh my god,”
“Well, what did the note say,”
“Oh gosh, just read it,” A.J.’s face turned red.
Lily and Shawn read the note together and smiled. “Aww, how sweet is this?”
“I wonder who it is,”
“Do you think it’s Daniel,”
“So impossible, it couldn’t be Daniel,” A.J. said. “I’ll just have to see for myself,”
A.J. smiled.
Gunner looked in the mirror of his bedroom as Chuck tried to make him look good for Carina.
“Dude,” Gunner said. “I look like Pauly D, I can’t have my hair look like this,”
“If you really want to impress your girl, you must do this,”
“By having a blowout and fake tattoos?” Gunner said. “Bro, this is something that I can’t do,”
Chuck shook his head. “Or, maybe I can have a go with Carina just like it was planned before you joined New Directions,”
Gunner began to laugh, “Ha ha ha, keep dreaming, man, keep dreaming,”
“Come on, Gunner, it doesn’t look that bad,”
“Listen to me, Salvatore, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. T-O-M-O-R-R-O-W,”
“I know how to spell, Gunner,” Chuck looked away.
“Forget that,” Gunner continued. “This is my only chance to prove Carina that I deserve her love, OK? Being with Addison, I couldn’t have a chance to do this, since she was in McKinley and I was with The Showstoppers, this is serious, bro, I can’t dress up looking like I’m going “Party Rock In The House Tonight,” I can’t, I need my hair back,”
Chuck blew out a sigh, “Fine, but when you have no ideas to impress Maraj, don’t come running back to me,”
“I have more things to deal with than this,” Chuck said. “Especially with Anna,”
“Anna?” Gunner said. “What, she’s thinking about coming back?”
“She is,” Chuck said. “It’s like, I don’t know if she really does and at points I feel like it’s because of what I’ve done,”
“What did you do?”
“Well, let’s just say if you get drunk, don’t have sex with a guy and then fall for them, that’s a bad thing,”
“You boned a guy?” Gunner turned around as Chuck was fixing his hair.
“If I say who, would you never bring this up again?”
“Yes,”
“Dougie,”
Gunner gasps, “Dude, are you serious?”
“Yes, now let’s change the subject,”
Gunner shook his head, “Well, Chuck, why don’t you just convince her again?”
“I’ve done it three times since she’s been here, dude,” Chuck said. “She’s just trying to adapt to Ohio again, I mean, I would do the same thing, especially if I spent almost a half a year in Canada.”
“Ditto,” Gunner said. “Well, don’t worry yourself, she’ll come back around to McKinley, just let her have some time to herself,”
Chuck sighed and continued with Gunner’s hair.
“I can’t believe I have to do this all over again,”
“Ha, you did it, not me, I told you I didn’t want a blowout,”
“Well, well, well, guys, it’s Valentine’s Day!” Mr. Schuester yelled out.
Everyone cheered, excluding Daniel, who looked away and sighed and tried to act like he was careless about Valentine’s Day.
“Now, this gives me the best assignment for this week,” Mr. Schuester quickly jumped to the whiteboard behind him and wrote “Love Songs” in a red dry-erase marker.
“Love Songs,” Mr. Schuester said. “Now, this doesn’t have to be the world’s most known love songs, it could be just a song that could reflect how you feel about someone, your mood and your point of view when it comes to love,”
Levi smiled and nodded, then looked at Carina and winked, Carina winked back.
“Excuse me, Mr. Schuester,” Daniel said.
“Yes, Daniel?”
“Does it really have to show love?” Daniel said. “I mean, when it comes to the problem that I’m having, I don’t think it should be always about loving someone,”
Almost everyone rolled their eyes.
“Oh, my god, shut up already,” Claira said under her breath.
“Do you have a song for us?” Mr. Schuester said.
“As a matter of fact, I do,” Daniel walked in the front of the floor and snapped his fingers at the band.
“It all comes down to this, I miss your morning kiss, I won’t lie, I’m feeling it, you don’t know, I’m missing it, I’m so dumb, I must admit, it’s too much to hold it in, I can’t say no more than this, I just hope your heart hear me now,”
Chuck sat next to A.J. and as he heard the words to the song, he turned to A.J. and he looked back, then looked away trying to ignore it.
“Gotta let you know how I’m feeling, you own my heart he just renting, don’t turn away, pay attention, I’m pouring out my heart oh boy,”

As the song ended, everyone suddenly clapped, and A.J. tried to look away. Daniel looked at A.J. to get a reaction out of him, but he sighed and sat back down in his chair.
Mr. Schuester was in the teacher’s lounge, and Chanel walked in, and had a white item in her hand and she tried to hide it in her back pocket.
“Hey, Will,” Chanel said as she sat down across from him.
“Hey, Chanel, how are you feeling?” Will smiled as he was looking at his papers.
“I’m doing fine, I had to go to the doctors today for further notice about the baby,”
“What did they say?” Will asked.
“I’m 8 months,”
“Wow, um, that’s good,” Will said.
Chanel nodded, “So, how are the Glee kids?”
“Oh, the kids are doing great, actually,” Schuester said. “We’re working on doing love songs since it’s Valentine’s Day.”
“Nice,” Chanel said.
“Well, I have to go, I’m really hungry, so I, uh, must grab something to eat,” Chanel said.
“OK, see you around,” Will said.
As Chanel got up, the white item she had before in her back pocket dropped on the chair.
“See you,” Chanel walked out.
Mr. Schuester continued to write, until he saw something white on the chair across from him. He closely looked as he got up and he picked it up. And he realized that it was a pregnancy test. As he saw it, he saw a negative sign on it, and he gasped and looked behind him to see if Chanel was there.
A.J. was at his locker again and someone with a bouquet of flowers came to him.
“Flowers for A.J. Riley?” The person said.
“Yes, that’s me,” A.J. said. “Oh, my, these are so beautiful,”
“From what I know, you have a secret admirer, you better watch your back,” The guy laughed as he walked away.
A.J. looked in the flowers and saw a white card inside. The letter said. Roses are red, violets are blue, come to the library and I will reveal myself to you.
A.J. giggled, “Oh my,”
He walked in slowly to the library, where there was no one inside. “Hello?”
“Hello?” He continued to say.
“I figured you would get the note,” someone said.
A.J. slowly turned around, “Who says?”
The person had a hat on his head, covering up his face. “Hmm, who are you, must I ask, ol’ secret admirer?”
The person revealed his face, and brown hair popped out from the hat and it was Drew.
A.J. gasped. “Oh my god, Drew, it was you?”
“Who did you expect?” Drew winked.
“Wow, this is crazy, you’ve been my secret admirer all this time?”
“I have,” Drew smiled.
“Gosh, you have a way with words,” A.J. continued.
“I know, my mom taught me a lot about writing poems, since she was a very successful one herself,”
“It’s just the way you write, it’s really sweet,” A.J. said. “Why did you do this?”
“Sit down, A.J.,” Drew said.
A.J. sat down in the brown chair across from him, and Drew sighed. “Maybe it’s time I should confess something,”
“What is it?”
“Um, remember when we were hanging out and we were talking about our lives as kids,”
“Yup, I remember,”
“When you defended me when Daniel yelled at me last week,”
“I surely remember that,”
“The reason why I did the secret admirer thing, it’s because, I have a crush on you,”
A.J. was stunned, it was like he couldn’t talk, and then he got out of the shock and began to giggle. “Aww, Drew,”
“Why didn’t you just say that before?”
“It’s because I didn’t want to jump too fast to it,” Drew said. “And I was scared that you would feel uncomfortable with it because of what I told you about what happened between me and Dougie, and I made a mistake, that was just the first mistake I’ve made, I never knew a lot about being in love with someone like Dougie, I was young and in love, and when I broke his heart, I never knew that I would face so much consequences, I just didn’t know what you would think of me,”
“If I ever dated someone who cheated on me, I would give them three chances, because I think forgiving people is good, it could lead them to start changing and making it all up to you,”
“If you don’t like me as much as I like you, A.J., it’s OK. I just had to come out that way.”
“Drew, it’s OK,” A.J. said. “I kind of have a little on you too, especially because of the way you talk, Daniel never talked to me that way before,”
Drew blushed, then looked down.
A.J. slowly touched Drew’s face and pushed his face up to him as he went closer to him and put his lips to his. He kissed him and put his hands on both of his cheeks, he then moved back, and in shock.
“Whew,” A.J. said. “Um-um-um, I have to go,”
Drew replied, “Yeah, yeah, I have to-to go too,”
A.J. quickly walked out and ran to the side of the wall, and blushed. “I threw a wish in the well,, don't ask me, I'll never tell, I looked to you as it fell, and now you're in my way.
Drew was on the other side of the library wall, “I'd trade my soul for a wish, pennies and dimes for a kiss, I wasn't looking for this, but now you're in my way,”
“Your stare was holdin', ripped jeans, skin was showin', hot night, wind was blowin', where you think you're going, baby?,” A.J. and Drew both sang against the wall.
A.J. walked back into the library, face to face with Drew. “Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me, maybe? It's hard to look right at you baby, but here's my number, so call me, maybe?,” They both sang.
“You took your time with the call,, I took no time with the fall, you gave me nothing at all, but still, you're in my way, I beg, and borrow and steal, have foresight and it's real, I didn't know I would feel it, but it's in my way,” Drew and A.J. both sang.

“Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me, maybe? It's hard to look right at you baby, but here's my number, so call me, maybe?,” They both sang. “And all the other boys, try to chase me, but here's my number, so call me, maybe?
The song ended and Drew and A.J. was panting heavily, breathing hard for air, and then Drew suddenly pushed A.J. against him and shoved his lips to A.J.’s.
“DREW?!” Lily said. “Oh my god!”
“You can’t be serious,” Shawn said. “Drew was your secret admirer?”
“Yes,” A.J. said. “To be honest, it was a great moment of my life, Daniel has never said anything in those notes like that to me,”
“How did he reveal himself?”
“He told me to go in the library, and he had a hat on, he took it off, and it was him, he told me that he has a crush on me, and then we kissed, I left out, blushing, and then I came back in, I told him to call me maybe, then we kissed again, and that’s how it ended,”
Lily and Shawn looked at each other. “Aww!” They both said in unison.
A.J. giggled.
“So, are you guys dating or what?” Lily asked.
“Maybe so,” A.J. winked.
“Don’t play mind games with me, Riley, I know you guys are, I can see it in your eyes,”
“OK, Shawn,” A.J. said. “We’re dating, but we’re taking it slow, that’s the way he wanted it, that’s the way we’ll do it,”
“What about Daniel?” Lily said.
“Daniel can try to get me back all he wants, but it’s not going to work, because he needs to be taught a lesson when it comes to love, but Drew, he is sweet to me, and it takes more than looks and attention just to be in a relationship. It takes honesty and respect to love someone,”
“Praise, Riley,” Shawn said.
A.J. smiled, “Come on, guys, let’s head to class,”
“She’s lying to me, I know it,” Will said.
“How do you know this for sure?” Emma asked.
Will took out the pregnancy test and showed her.
Emma closely looked at the test and gasped. “How did you get this?”
“It fell from her back pocket I guess, when I walked in there, it wasn’t on the chair, so I knew it’s hers, she’s a liar,” Will said.
Emma put her hand on Will’s hand. “If she’s lying, confront her, it’s the best thing to do just for her to get out of your way,”
“I think this is because she’s trying to win me back because of Randy,” Will said. “I don’t even think that Randy even left her, I just think this is all fake, it’s happening again, Em,”
“Terri,” Emma said.
Mr. Schuester yelled out, “Love stinks,”
The music began to play, and he walked out of the hallway, and into the choir room, where the band began to play.
“You love her, but she loves him and he loves somebody else, you just can't win,”
“And so it goes, till the day you die, this thing they call love, it's gonna make you cry,”
“I've had the blues, the reds and the pinks, one thing for sure,”
New Directions sang along with Mr. Schuester as he yelled out, “Love stinks, yeah, yeah, love stinks, yeah, yeah, love stinks, yeah yeah, love stinks, yeah, yeah,”
“I've been through diamonds, I've been through minks, I've been through it all, love stinks!”

Everyone cheered for Mr. Schuester, but Addison asked, “Mr. Schuester, that was amazing, but is this a example of a love song?”
“It is, only if you’re out of a relationship,” Will said.
Gunner was still having difficulties to impress Carina.
“I just hope that I could impress her,” Gunner said. “If she doesn’t like what I’m wearing tonight, Chuck, I’m gonna kick your ass,”
“Hey, hey, take it easy, bro,” Chuck looked away and squinted his eyes.
Gunner sprayed his mouth with a bottle of breath spray, and then he smoothed out his eyebrows. He cleared his throat as he walked in the hallway to Carina.
“Hey, baby,” Gunner said with sass.
Carina turned around slowly and began to laugh. “Gunner, is that you?”
“Yes, it’s me,” Gunner winked.
Carina started to laugh.
Gunner frowned. “What’s so funny?”
“It’s just, you look so cute in that outfit,”
“Awwh, I’m not supposed to look cute, I’m supposed to look sexy,” Gunner looked down.
Carina smiled, “Gunner, everything is sexy about you, your hair, your eyes, everything,” She touched his face. “You don’t have to impress me for Valentine’s Day, everything about you impresses me,”
Gunner blushed, “Really?”
“Yeah, there’s not a thing you should change about yourself, be who you are,”
Gunner smiled and blushed at the same time, Carina kissed Gunner softly on the lips and hugged him.
Levi stood on the stage in the auditorium pouting as he was playing with the piano. Dougie walked to him on the side of the stage.
“Hey,” Dougie said. “What are you doing here all alone?”
“Trying to think of ways to impress you,”
“Impress me?” Dougie said. “Why,”
Levi slammed the piano as loud as he could. “It’s just, I can’t even find anything to show you how much I care about you on Valentine’s Day. I feel so selfish,”
Dougie walked closer to him. “Don’t say that, you’re not selfish, Lev, and I don’t care what you do, you don’t have to impress me,”
“I don’t?”
“Dude, you rocked that Make My Heart performance with Carina, that impressed me enough,” Dougie said. “And being with you, is the best thing for me on Valentine’s Day.”
Levi smiled. “Do you mean that?”
“Of course I do,” Dougie said. “You’re so cute with your blue eyes. It’s like you make me fall down like a domino,”
The band began to play on the stage, and suddenly Cheyenne, Elizabeth and Ruby walked on the stage as Dougie jumped up and began to sing.
“I'm feeling sexy and free, like glitter's raining on me, you're like a shot of pure gold, I think I'm 'bout to explode,” Dougie sang. “I can taste the tension like a cloud of smoke in the air, now I'm breathing like I'm running cause you're taking me there, don't you know? You spin me out of control,”

Chanel sighed and walked out, Will pouted and slammed his head on his desk in depression.
